AFTERCARE

Tattoo Aftercare Instructions

The aftercare of your tattoo is just as important—if not more important—than getting the tattoo itself. Keep in mind that a tattoo is not permanent until it has fully healed. If it doesn’t heal properly, it may not look the way it should. That’s why we provide our clients with the correct aftercare steps, so your tattoo comes out looking perfect.

First two days:

  • Do not apply any creams or ointments.

  • The tattoo heals better and faster if it is left to breathe.

  • Wash gently 2–3 times per day with antibacterial, fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water.

  • When washing, make sure to remove all plasma from the tattooed area, since leftover plasma can create thick scabs and pull ink out.

After the first 48 hours:

  • Continue washing the tattoo 2–3 times daily.

  • Start applying the artist-recommended lotion or ointment in a very thin layer.

  • Avoid Vaseline or thick layers of cream, as they can suffocate the skin and cause infection.

Exercise & sweating:

  • Avoid heavy exercise and activities that cause excessive sweating for the first 5–7 days.

  • Sweat can push out ink particles and irritate the skin, leading to poor healing.

  • Once you return to training, always clean your tattoo immediately afterward.

Alcohol & intimate contact:

  • Avoid alcohol for at least one week after getting your tattoo, as it can thin the blood and slow healing.

  • Avoid sexual activity that could expose the tattooed area to bodily fluids for at least one week, especially if the tattoo is near intimate areas. Bodily fluids can increase the risk of infection.

Things to avoid:

  • Do not submerge your tattoo in water (no pools, jacuzzis, baths, or ocean) until fully healed.

  • Avoid direct sunlight. Always keep it covered outdoors until healed.

  • Do not scratch or pick at scabs—let them fall off naturally.

If you have any questions during the healing process, please contact us. We are here to ensure your tattoo heals perfectly—but remember, the final result is in your hands.
